Mission is a central part of our vision at St Peter’s Church. Jesus calls us to meet the needs of our local community through giving, prayer and practical acts of love. But it doesn’t stop there, as Christians we have a commission to share the good news with all nations, partnering with God to see the transformation of the world around us. At St Peter’s Church, Hartshorne we support a number of organisations involved in mission.
Youth for Christ (YFC) is a national Christian charity that was founded by Billy Graham in 1946. Working with over 250,000 young people each month, they draw alongside teens from every background and culture in Britain. SDYFC aims to meet young people in schools, youth clubs or other places and get to know them with a view to telling them about the gospel and eventually introducing them to church groups. Read more
Tearfund is a UK Christian relief and development agency which works in over 50 countries, responding to disasters, campaigning for justice, helping churches do whatever it takes to get close and stay close to the people who need them. Tearfund has a big vision – by accessing the God-given-potential in poor communities through local churches they aim to end extreme poverty – permanently. Read more
